General Summary: The Java Developer/Solution Architect is responsible for turning business objectives, tasks and projects related to the Product Development Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and its associated ERP interfaces into fully realized Java code. S/he will work with the ERP Implementation Team and R&D Systems group to define, scope, program, test and implement changes to the PLM system to meet current and future business needs. S/he acts as the primary point of contact for executing the development of software code between PLM and ERP systems.

The selected candidate will be responsible for design and development of InGaAs sensors. Propose, plan, and track projects that develop the next generation photonic sensors and photovoltaic devices and for both space and terrestrial applications. Write proposals for, produce intellectual property for, and publish in these areas of technology. Coordinate project goals and activity with company management, production, finance and marketing functions, keeping all supporting functions apprised of the project details and needs.
To qualify you should possess an M..S. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or physical chemistry and at least 3 to 5 years of hands on experience in the design, fabrication, and reliability testing of III-V compound semiconductor photonic devices, preferably for InGaAs sensors. Practiced in managing project goals against available project funding. Previous publications in related technology are expected.
Knowledge Desired: Physics of compound semiconductor photonic/OE devices, space operating environment, computation/simulation of device performance, analysis of materials using techniques such as SIMS, SAM, ECV, CV, EDAX, metallurgical optical microscopy, AFM, etc. Basic understanding of cost estimation is desired. Good communication and writing skills.
